In the 2009, due to the owner work schedule, we could not race at Clinton County Raceway. We decided to buy our own mini indy racing team for the Red Cross Susquehanna 500. After a long month of getting the car ready, we were ready to race. We had two practice events that did not go well. Every time at the hair pin turn, we stall out. The engine builder came over after practice to look at the engine. We change out the clutch springs and went to go qualified. Joe King took the green flag for his one lap. He made no mistakes in till the hair pin turn. We qualified third at of the eighteen cars. Joe may have got the pole if he did not slip in the hair pin turn. Qualifying time of 1min 11 sec around there. We started second in the first heat. Jimmy King started the race and made a mistake dropping the team to last. Than Joe gets back in the car. He work his way back up to battle for the second spot. He gets black flag due to rough drivers. After returning to the track, coming into turn one he flips it. We repair the car and it may it little better. Due to being a first year team and the weather,we came away with a 1st place trophy in the Hard luck event. We also receive the best decorated race car award.
